About Me.
Hello there! My name is Jacob Plochocki, but you can call me Jake.
My background is pretty simple: I grew up in a small town in Illinois called La Salle. If you're familiar with the Starved Rock State Park and Matthiessen State Park areas, then I'm relatively close by! My journey started at Illinois Valley Community College and, minus some challenges along the way, ended at Illinois State University where I got my Bachelors of Science in Graphic Design. My interest in the arts and design started with a "How to Draw Pokemon" book I picked up in a local library. Ever since I was young, I found a fascination with gaming and the artwork behind it, and with that being said I decided to expand more on a 2D aspect of drawing: whether it be landscape drawings or replicating what I would see in books, that is what I found passionate. It was at that point that I learned I can apply my own artistic style on whatever it was I wanted to create and expand for future projects. Along my path of perfecting my craft, I have gained experience in areas that were way beyond my comfort zone, which I believe made me a better learner and gave me interest in other fields, such as geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, and other sciences; as well as other areas that fit in my field of study such as video editing, web design, and photo restoration. With that being said, I made the conscious decision to pursue just that: beginning from my internships with local businesses to expand their marketing, to helping some of my closest friends with any design needs they may have. When it comes to graphic design, I make it a priority to deliver exceptional work to whomever I work with, while maintaining a fine eye for detail and quick turnaround times to better meet my client's needs. I'd like to think of myself as a reliable and competent visionary to those who seek my talent and always strive to give 110% whatever it takes. I believe that by showing a genuine interest and keeping an open mind to whomever I work with, I feel I gather a better understanding as to what is expected to a client when it comes to delivering a powerful, effective design. Today, I sit comfortably with my wonderful fiancé Alyssa, a golden lab, and a pomeranian/chihuahua ready to tackle whatever comes our way. With the support system I have, I am looking to be a perfect fit for a design and print industry that will allow me the privilege to share my ideas and craft, while also give me the opportunity to support my family in whatever endeavors we may encounter.
